IG/1 Standard BlueFlame Managed Learning Programme leading to CCN1 (Core Gas) and CENWAT (Boilers) | The ACS qualification is valid for 5 years.

Pre-requisites

There is no Pre-requisite qualifications for this course, however candidates must be able to read, write, and speak in English.

If you are looking to change careers quickly, our intensive Full Time Managed Learning Programme (MLP) is the most efficient route to becoming a qualified gas engineer. This course takes you from a new entrant to a competent professional through a structured, fast-paced curriculum. By immersing yourself in four days of centre-based learning each week, you will rapidly develop the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to enter the industry with confidence.

Course Overview

This programme is delivered via centre-based guided learning, combining essential safety standards with intensive hands-on pipework and appliance training.

Modules Covered:

Safety Foundations: Health and Safety including PPE , and Safety/IGEM Standards.

Core Pipework: Standards of pipework in domestic premises , including bending, jointing, soldering, and clipping.

Gas Distribution: Understanding the Gas Distribution Network , pressure, and pressure gauges.

System Testing: Tightness testing , purging installations , and tracing/repairing escapes.

Appliances & Combustion: Combustion , CPA1 (Combustion analysis) , flues , ventilation , and an introduction to boilers and heating systems.

Practical Service: Installation, servicing, and repair of boilers.

Portfolio Procedure:
All candidates must provide a portfolio of evidence, built alongside a Gas Safe Engineer, to be eligible for their final ACS exams.

Portfolio Session: A dedicated session is held on week 3, day 4, when placements become available.

Technical Training: Covers method statements (Let-By, Temperature Stabilisation, Tracing an Escape), job write-up templates, and photograph requirements.

Placements: We provide a placement in/around West Yorkshire for boiler work to ensure you meet the standards for submission.

This course is a structured of a mix of written theory exams and practical assessments
